The GLOPS Project – Green Low-footprint Optimized Platform for Petrol Stations is a research and development initiative aimed at creating an integrated digital platform for the intelligent, efficient, and sustainable management of next-generation petrol stations.
The project was submitted under the Director’s Decree of April 3, 2025, financed through the resources of the National Programme for Research, Innovation and Competitiveness for the Green and Digital Transition 2021/2027, FCS “STEP” intervention, Action 1.1.4 “Collaborative Research” and Action 1.6.1 “Support for Critical STEP Technologies”, promoted by the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy.
GLOPS was conceived to address the ongoing transformation in the fuel distribution sector, where petrol stations are evolving from simple refueling points into increasingly digitalized, interconnected, and sustainability-oriented multi-service hubs. In this context, the project aims to develop a solution capable of integrating the station’s main services into a single ecosystem, improving user experience, operational efficiency, and environmental impact management.
The platform includes the integration of software modules and intelligent components for field-device interoperability, unified forecourt service management, customer loyalty, automated assistance, and ESG monitoring. A distinctive element of the project is the adoption of advanced tools for monitoring energy consumption and the station’s carbon footprint, including sensors, artificial intelligence algorithms, and innovative solutions for reducing environmental impact.
Through experimentation in real-world environments, GLOPS aims to validate a new model of intelligent petrol station capable of combining digitalization, environmental sustainability, and energy efficiency, thereby contributing to the green and digital transition of the sector.
The GLOPS Project – Green Low-footprint Optimized Platform for Petrol Stations is being carried out collaboratively by a partnership composed of EXECUS S.P.A., acting as lead partner, ADASTA MEDIA S.R.L., and ZCA DIGITAL S.R.L., each involved in the development of specific Work Objectives aligned with their respective technological, application, and integration expertise.
The partnership is composed as follows:
- EXECUS S.P.A., acting as lead partner, with registered office at Viale Premuda 46, 20129 Milan (MI), Tax Code 10625270961, classified as a Micro-sized enterprise.
- ADASTA MEDIA S.R.L., with registered office at Viale Premuda 46, 20129 Milan (MI), Tax Code 10128870960, classified as a Micro-sized enterprise.
- ZCA DIGITAL S.R.L., with registered office at Viale Premuda 46, 20129 Milan (MI), Tax Code 12999370963, classified as a Small-sized enterprise.
Within the project, the partners contribute to the development of the solution through a distribution of Work Objectives distinguishing Industrial Research (IR) activities from Experimental Development (ED) activities, with the goal of integrally covering methodological definition, architectural design, platform development, environmental monitoring, intelligent modules, and overall solution validation.
ADASTA MEDIA S.R.L. contributes to both Experimental Development (ED) and Industrial Research (IR) activities through WO2 and WO5. In particular, ADASTA is involved in the development and implementation of the integrated OTP platform for station services, as well as in the study of generative artificial intelligence algorithms for automated services and resource optimization.
Pursuant to the provisions of Article 3 (Obligations of Beneficiary Entities), and specifically paragraphs e) and g), concerning publicity, monitoring, and transparency related to the use of resources from the National Programme for Research, Innovation and Competitiveness for the Green and Digital Transition 2021–2027, Action 1.1.4 “Collaborative Research”, the following information is provided regarding each beneficiary entity involved in the GLOPS Project – Green Low-footprint Optimized Platform for Petrol Stations, carried out at Via dei Guerrieri 7, 72100 Brindisi (BR), Italy.
